This style of exercise combines the strength training and body lengthening aspects of pilates with the core training and stretching elements of yoga to create an entirely new workout experience. It’s low impact and adaptable to all ages and fitness levels. Unlike traditional Pilates and yoga sessions, PiYo is set up like a cardio class, designed to burn calories and make you sweat. Wear comfortable workout clothing, bring a yoga mat and water. Workout can be done with or without sneakers based on preference.

Zumba is a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility. This workshop is designed to loosen and stretch the hip joint so that movement in that area is easier and less tense. We will combine some restorative yoga poses with some that will increase flexibility and strengthen the body (especially the hip joints). Much of what we cover can be done at home after the workshop.

Out-of-hospital births account for just over one percent of babies born in the United States. In this talk, Amy Woodrow will discuss her experience birthing three children at home. Topics will include the decision to plan a home birth, compatibility with pre- and perinatal care, relative costs, and information on local resources.
